THE POLICY

The Taste of Design roadshow aims to always show transparency and fairness in the collection and use of data, and to let individuals know for what purpose their data will be used and applies to the current laws which are known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This privacy policy is for this website; tasteof.design and is served by a group of exhibitors, that form the Taste of Design committee, and governs the privacy of its users who choose to use it. The exhibitors are the data controllers and a full list can be found on the exhibitor page of the website.

This policy will explain areas of this website that may affect your privacy and personal details, how we process, collect, manage and store those. Further explanations may be provided for specific pages or features of this website to help you understand how we, this website and its third parties (if any) interact with you and your computer/device to serve it to you. WEBSITE VISITOR TRACKING

This website may use tracking software to monitor its visitors to better understand how they use it. The software may save a cookie to your computer’s hard drive to track and monitor your engagement and usage of the website, but will not store, save or collect personal information.

INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU

When you browse the site, we do not collect personal information about you. The only way we will get any kind of personal information is if you give it to us when we specifically ask for it. We ask you for personal information in a variety of circumstances such as:

CONTACT & COMMUNICATION WITH US

Users contacting us through this website do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely to prevent unauthorised access. We will only hold data for a given period. If we have had no transaction or activity with a contact on our database, it will be deleted after a maximum of 3 years. This applies to all data, including: customers, potential customers and any other information we hold on individuals.

Where we have clearly stated and made you aware of the fact, and where you have given your express permission, we may use your details to send you products/services information through a mailing list system.

If you have registered for the Taste of Design roadshows, have visited the shows in the past or have shown a previous interest in purchasing a product or service from one of our exhibitors, we will only contact you with information about future events similar to those which were of interest to you in the past. If you are a new customer, we will contact you only if you have consented to this.

EMAIL MAILING LIST & MARKETING MESSAGES

We may operate an email mailing list program, used to inform subscribers about products, services and / or news we supply / publish. Users can subscribe through an online automated process where they have given their explicit permission.

Subscriber personal details are collected, processed, managed and stored in accordance with the regulations. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time through an automated online service, or if not available, other means as detailed in the footer of sent marketing messages (or unsubscribe from all Mailchimp lists). The type and content of marketing messages subscribers receive, and if it may contain third party content, is clearly outlined at the point of subscription.

Email marketing messages may contain tracked clickable links or similar server technologies to track subscriber activity within email marketing messages. Where used, such marketing messages may record a range of subscriber data relating to engagement, geographic, demographics and already stored subscriber data.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS

You have a right to ask us to provide you with access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data. Providing you with this information may incur a charge of £10 per request. You have a right to ask us to provide you or a third party with the personal data you have provided us in an electronic format.

You have a right to object to certain purposes for processing, in particular, direct marketing.

Although we only look to include quality, safe and relevant external links, users are advised to adopt a policy of caution before clicking any external web links mentioned throughout this website.

Shortened URL’s; URL shortening is a technique used on the web to shorten URL’s (Uniform Resource Locators) to something substantially shorter. This technique is especially used in social media. Users should take caution before clicking on shortened URL links and verify their authenticity before proceeding.

We cannot guarantee or verify the contents of any externally linked website despite our best efforts. Users should therefore note they click on external links at their own risk and we cannot be held liable for any damages or losses caused by visiting any external links mentioned.
