At Ian Sanderson we have been passionately designing fabric for upholstery and soft furnishings since 1962 from our studio in the West Berkshire countryside. Our collections are inspired by modern day living with bold explorations into historical and traditional designs. Classic linens are featured alongside sumptuous velvets, and a solid core of plain and semi plain fabrics are complemented by an eclectic range of elaborate prints and weaves, ranging from contemporary geometrics to wide-width ‘almost’ sheers.
We are passionate about what we do and produce designs that we would love to have in our own home and hope that you will too!
At the heart of our new collection, Chatterings is Chatterpie – a fabulous stylised floral design from the Ian Sanderson Archive. Chatterpie originates from the 1930’s and is by the same designer who originated our Poppinjay design.
Originally printed on wooden rollers, it’s moderate scale and balance of multi colours make it a bold feature for our new collection. Seven printed on textured, heavy linen and two on luxurious cotton velvet explore nine colour groups from pale and interesting to bright and vivacious.
